According to recently released statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)

• Over 9 million surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures were performed in the US during 2011.
• The top five cosmetic surgical procedures in 2011 included 1. liposuction, 2. breast augmentation, 3. abdominoplasty, 4. blepharoplasty, and 5. breast lift.
• With over 300,000 procedures performed, there was  almost a 13% increase in the total number of liposuction procedures from 2010 to 2011. (Source: www.surgery.org)
