Combining Facial Procedures for More Comprehensive Results

“Can I combine a facelift with eyelid surgery?” This question is one that I receive on a fairly regular basis from my patients. Though this may not always be the case, certain plastic surgery procedures do complement each other exceptionally well and can be combined to provide patients with fantastic, comprehensive cosmetic results. For patients seeking more extensive facial rejuvenation, combining a facelift with eyelid surgery can be just the thing they need.

My short scar facelift is perfect for patients trying to refresh their look and fight off the visible signs of aging. During the procedure, facial skin and soft tissues are repositioned to create a lifting effect for the cheeks while reducing the jowls, and softening the nasolabial folds. Similarly, eyelid surgery (known as blepharoplasty) can improve the appearance by rejuvenating tired-looking eyes. Eyelid surgery works by removing excess skin and fatty deposits that accumulate around the eyes that can lead to “bags” under the eyes or “hooded” upper eyelids.

In addition to achieving terrific, long-lasting results, combining cosmetic surgery procedures can be preferable to certain patients due to the convenience it is able to provide. Combining procedures allows patients to reduce the downtime needed to recover following their surgery, while also limiting costs by eliminating additional anesthesia and operating room fees incurred from multiple separate procedures. Combining facial cosmetic procedures can help patients achieve brilliant, life-changing results in a faster and more convenient way than undergoing separate surgeries may allow. Though combining plastic surgery procedures can be safe and preferable for certain patients, this may not be an option for everyone. During your plastic surgery consultation, we will speak at length about your expectations and aesthetic goals, as well as your medical history, to determine if combining facial procedures is the best course of action for you.
