Dr. L. Franklyn Elliott Named 2011 US News Top Doctor

You probably already read about Dr. L. Franklyn Elliott being named to Atlanta Magazine’s Top Docs list in the Atlanta Plastic Surgery practice-wide blog, but did you hear he was also named top doctor by US News? During the summer, US News released the list, which was compiled by Castle Connolly Ltd., a healthcare company that surveys reputable healthcare providers across the country to find the most talented healthcare providers in the nation. Considerations for physician inclusion on the list are patient care, quality of work, and contributions to the field.

With his contributions to the TRAM flap breast reconstruction technique, close attention to patients’ requests, and love of teaching, it’s no surprise Dr. Elliott’s name made the list. During his 27 years as a plastic surgeon, he has spent time writing plastic surgery articles to educate other plastic surgeons on techniques and also to teach patients more about the plastic and reconstructive surgery options available. Due to his contributions to breast reconstruction, Dr. Elliott served as the Program Chairman and Director of the Atlanta Breast Surgery Symposium for many years and is presently the organization’s Co-Director.

Dr. Elliott performs a wide range of plastic surgery procedures besides breast reconstruction. He uses his extensive knowledge of plastic surgery techniques and advanced surgical technology to ensure that his patients continually have the best surgery results possible. For example, he uses the Quill™ Knotless Suturing Device to speed incision-closure times and minimize uneven pressure that’s sometimes placed on wounds by traditional sutures.

Dr. Elliott performs cosmetic procedures like facelift, breast augmentation, liposuction, and a variety of cosmetic procedures.
